How Test for Test Works
Step-by-step checklists for app owners recruiting Android 12 testers and for testers earning coins.
For App Owners
From signup through publishing on Google Play.

Create an App Circle account
Sign up for free and complete your profile.

Post your app
Create a testing campaign with your app name, description, Google Play testing link (when ready), and how many testers you need. You pay a simple upfront cost (testers × reward). Testers earn a bit each day from that prepaid amount; if the campaign runs longer, further daily earns come from your balance (which can go negative — then you earn coins by testing before posting again).

Receive tester applications
Other App Circle members apply to test your app. You’ll get a notification for each one.

Approve your testers promptly
Accept or decline each application as soon as it arrives — don’t wait until your tester quota is full. Testers are blocked until you decide. Ignoring applications can pause or close your campaign and may cost posting privileges.

Add tester emails to Google Play Console
Copy approved testers’ Gmail addresses from App Circle and add them to your Google Play Console testing list (Closed Testing).

Testers join your Google Play test
After Google adds them to your tester list, they open your invite or Google Group link, join, and install your app.

Testers use your app
Each accepted tester opts in when ready, uses the app, and submits bugs or ideas. They don’t all need to start at the same time.

Verify completed testing
App Circle verifies daily opens. On new campaigns, testers earn a fraction of a coin each day after about 2 minutes in the app (Companion plays a coin sound when the timer is done).

Reward testers
On new daily-earn campaigns, coins are paid each open day from your campaign prepaid, then from your balance if needed. Mark the campaign complete when you're done — unused prepaid coins are refunded and testers stop earning. Older flat campaigns still pay a lump sum when testers finish or when you mark complete. Cancelling refunds unused prepaid / unused slots.

Optional: post bonus tasks
After testers finish the verified test, optionally offer bonus coin tasks — gameplay video, TikTok post, usability review, improvement ideas, or a custom task. Testers choose whether to opt in.

Publish your app
Once you’ve met Google’s testing requirements, move on to production and publish your app.
For Testers
From browsing campaigns through earning coins and reputation.

Create an App Circle account
Sign up for free, then add your Google Play or Apple ID email in your profile (can be the same as login).

Browse available apps
View testing campaigns posted by Android developers.

Apply to test an app
Choose an app you’d like to test and submit your application.

Wait for the app owner to review
The app owner selects the testers they want for their campaign.

If accepted, opt in and install
Once accepted, you can use the access link — a Play invite or Google Group (after the owner adds your email for closed testing). You don’t wait for the full group to start.

Keep the app installed
Leave the app installed while you explore it and note bugs or ideas.

Submit bugs or ideas (optional)
Use the testing dashboard to send bug reports and ideas if you find something. Keep the app installed for the campaign length (at least 15 days) before finishing for coins.

Finish and get verified
When you’ve submitted the required feedback, finish the test to earn coins on older flat campaigns. On new daily-earn campaigns, claim coins each day after ~2 minutes in the app — keep going until the poster marks complete.

Earn coins
Coins are added to your App Circle account as you earn them (daily opens on new campaigns, or when you finish on older ones). Uninstall only after the poster marks the campaign complete.

Invite friends (optional)
Share your referral link from the Referrals page. When someone registers with your link and finishes their first app test, you earn bonus coins.

Optional bonus tasks
If the developer posts bonus tasks (video, TikTok, review, ideas, or custom), you can opt in for extra coins.

Build your rank
Earn rank XP by submitting bugs/ideas, finishing tests, approving testers, using the companion daily, and a small trickle for keeping the site or companion app open (capped per account). Each rank needs about 10% more XP than the last.
